WEW- Meet Aimee Storm Personal Trainer and Entrepreneur
I met Aimee a couple of years ago through a mutual friend. Actually, to be exact, our first time hanging out was a workout date so I knew I would love her! From that day moving forward, I knew she would be a special person in my life. When you’re with her you can’t help but feel empowered. Aimee has created a fitness empire through her business with Texas Fit Chicks. She was able to quit her full time corporate job and has become a Four Star Directing Level trainer with over 50 trainers on her team all spread out throughout Texas. Not only is she business savvy, but she is a genuine woman that inspires women everywhere she goes. She teaches women self love and practices what she preaches. When you’re around Aimee, you can’t help but feel great about yourself.
We welcome you Aimee Storm….
1. Tell us more about Texas Fit Chicks and what led you to start your business?
I started with Texas Fit Chicks as a client in February 2011. I had been on and off with my weight loss journey and fell in love with Texas Fit Chicks and all that we stand for. Allowing women access to a personal trainer at an affordable price, creating a community of support for one another, and providing workouts that are actually fun! I loved being able to have a way to work hard, and motivate other women at the same time. I was eager to get my personal training certification and start my own class! I started with 21 ladies in September of 2011 and haven’t looked back since!
In May of 2012 I quit the corporate world to be with my kids and build my business. I’m blessed to have trained hundreds of women in North Texas.
2. You are an early riser, waking up at 4am to teach fitness classes. How do you stay motivated when it comes to fitness and do you have to pep talk yourself out of bed? Any advice for someone trying to start an early morning workout routine?
Sleep! Sleep seems to be the first thing that people are willing to discount in their lives and it is one of the most important for their bodies and for their success! I don’t over think getting up in the mornings. The alarm goes off and my feet hit the floor….no time to think! I know that there are 50 women waiting for my energy over the next two hours and letting them down isn’t an option.
If you’re looking to start an early morning workout routine, getting to sleep at a decent hour is going to be the key to your success! 7-8 hours of sleep is really what your body needs. Set as many alarms as you need but don’t snooze! Find a friend, a class, or a trainer to workout with so you will be held accountable! In my classes the girls have accountability groups, or partners and text on a regular basis. Many carpool as well. Keep it up for a solid 2 weeks and you’ll find that getting up early is your new routine!
3. What are your top 3 tips/advice you would give to another person starting their business?
Find your PASSION! Most likely you will be selling something in your new business, either a product or a service. If you believe in what you are selling and are passionate about it, there’s no selling to be done.
What is the MARKETABILITY of your product or service? Determine your market and who your customers will be. Do a business assessment to make sure there is a demand for what you are offering.
Set GOALS! Both big and small! I do this in all areas of my life. Daily goals, weekly goals, annual goals, life goals! I view our time here on earth as very short and there’s so much that I want to accomplish in that time. The only way to get it all done is to write it down and prioritize. If you want it, you’ll make it happen.
4. I love your approach on health and fitness and that you’re huge on self love. Were you always like that?
I’ve always been confident but that’s not the same as self love, so I’d have to say no. I don’t think I truly started diving into myself until I was 28, which was 6 years ago. Like most people I started working on the outside first, which is actually opposite of what I teach. It really takes changing the inside and learning to love ourselves at every step of our journey before the outside can change long term. Sure, we have all of the power in the world to change our bodies but what good is it if you’re not good enough for even yourself when you get there?
Living your truth every day makes you proud. Doing what you love motivates you. Flourishing in your craft keeps you free of stagnation. Forgetting about the end result and being present in your every day journey will help you reach your goals.
5. What workout advice/tip would you give to someone who is on the go and doesn’t have much time?
The first thing I would say is that taking care of yourself is MOST important, so carve out some time. We all have the same amount of hours in a day and how we fill it is all by choice. Commit to yourself. Realistically, a good 15 minute sweat session daily can get you great results, especially if you’re doing nothing right now. Hit it before you get in the shower for work in the mornings, or on your lunch break, or be one of the brave souls that works out at night! I am not one of those people! The point is, if it’s important to you, you’ll make the time.
6. When do you feel most beautiful?
I feel the most beautiful when I am empowering other women. When I see that a switch has
gone off in their head and they realize that they have permission to love themselves. I feel beautiful every moment I’m with the man I love, every woman deserves that. I feel beautiful when I wear red lipstick and a great pair of wedges.
7. Where can everyone find you?
