We are proud to introduce you to Felicia Romero…..
1. Wow Felicia, you have a very impressive resume! Who inspires you and how do you get motivated?
My inspiration comes from many things in my life- First off, my mom. She is such a strong woman and has taught me to never give up and fight for what I want. I get inspiration from my clients as well….helping so many people throughout the years keeps me going and helps me realize that I am living my passion .
I get motivated by creating positive, healthy habits and a routine.
2. If you weren’t doing what you are doing right now professionally, what would you be doing?
I would probably be a lawyer. That was my original plan. Took my LSAT for law school and was well on my way when I changed my path.
3. What advice would you give to others who want to start a business or pursue a passion?
I would say “Do NOT give-up” . It will be hard and obstacles thrown your way but must be consistent in order for your dream to become a reality. Perseverance is key….do NOT give up.
4. Was there ever a time you wanted to give up (on anything- business, competing, any goal), and how did you get through that?
Yes! The mind is so so powerful. You have to believe , must have faith that it will work out. Without that I would have given up on all that I have accomplished. If you find yourself in a hole you must find a way to dig yourself out.
5. What is your day to day life like?
I wake up. I say my daily affirmations. Head to my business and get the daily routine going…..lots of stuff goes on at the business on a daily basis. I am also opening up a second location so starting to prep and plan for that. Everyday is a little different….which I love.
6. How do you balance it all?
Well, that is a hard question LOL. I still don’t think I have it down yet. I get overwhelmed, cause myself stress at times and sometimes forget to take care of myself. I am still learning the balance with the balls that I juggle…but i have definitely found a balance with the extreme lifestyle I use to live. Balance is a daily goal of mine and something I always try to keep in mind.
7. Let’s talk Self Body Image. You’ve always been so transparent about your struggles and inspired so many because of it. What inspired you to be so open about it?
Well, I am grateful for being at a happy place in my life and with my body. I feel it is important that if you have a platform to speak your truths then it is imperative to help others through your experiences. Hopefully it can help someone…..or inspire someone. I know that it helps me because talking about it helps me realize what I have gone through and allows me to be even more grateful for my health now.
8. How has your self image changed as you’ve gotten older. For example how did feel in your teens, vs your 20s and now your 30s?
It has changed dramatically over the last 10-15 years. In my teens I didn’t really go through self image issues. I was highly involved in sports etc. It wasn’t until my 20’s is when I started to worry about how I looked…It started around the time I started competing . When your days are spent analyzing your body and looking at yourself subjectively it starts to play with your head. My 20’s were spent not feeling good enough, always trying to be “perfect”, developing eating issues and body dysmorphia. It has taken over a year to get to a healthy and happy place and that is when I stopped competing and reached my 30’s. My confidence and self image is night and day different from in my 20’s . I feel a lot of that has to do with “self love” …I love myself in way that food or others cannot control how I feel about myself.
9. When do you feel most beautiful?
There is no specific time I feel beautiful . I feel like when you love yourself and give yourself permission to not be perfect, then that is when I feel beautiful. I feel it goes along the lines of balance…
10. What 3 products can you not live without?
I love Jergens cherry almond lotion- reminds me of my childhood
My Maybelline baby lips
False lashes- haha i love love wearing lashes….makes me feel complete and brightens up my eyes.
11. Where can everyone find you?
